Tripod, 800mm lens. Whatever I can find in the (mostly) night sky. All photos made in Austin, Texas except where noted. Lots of light polution, and I don't have a clock driven mount yet, so almost everything is a relatively quick exposure time.

  • Here the moon is completely eclipsed by Earth's shadow. The only light reaching the moon is refracted light coming through Earth's atmosphere. The atmosphere scatters the red/orange frequencies of the sun's rays just as it does the sunrise and sunset on Earth.
