Texas State Capitol "I have said that Texas is a state of mind, but I think it is more than that. It is a mystique closely approximating a religion. And this is true to the extent that people either passionately love Texas or passionately hate it and, as in other religions, few people dare to inspect it for fear of losing their bearings in mystery or paradox. But I think there will be little quarrel with my feeling that Texas is one thing. For all its enormous range of space, climate, and physical appearance, and for all the internal squabbles, contentions, and strivings, Texas has a tight cohesiveness perhaps stronger than any other section of America. Rich, poor, Panhandle, Gulf, city, country, Texas is the obsession, the proper study and the passionate possession of all Texans." -John Steinbeck, 1962. "Texas is neither southern nor western. Texas is Texas - Senator William Blakley",
General Store no more. Mogollon, New Mexico is a fascinating little town at the end of a road to, well, Mogollon, and nowhere else. That means it's not like other places because nobody goes there who doesn't live there, except guys like me who see little used roads and think, "Hmm, I wonder where that goes?" Sometimes, my camera and I are rewarded for finding out where the road goes. You may also have noticed that to me the world is a vivid place. I don't do a lot of b&w work, but sometimes a subject just begs for it. I try to be accommodating.
