11/1/2014 BOA Super Regional - Finals Performance
I set up my camera with an intervalometer which captured an image of the full playing field every second during OPE's Finals performance in the Alamodome. The performance was 858 seconds long, and that's how many images my camera captured. From those 858 images I've selected the images included in this gallery for their particular beauty, whether there was a symmetry, or completeness to a formation, or Color Guard flags, or rifles were caught in a fortuitous position, or perhaps I captured Riley, or Josh, or Kara in a great pose. In other words, these are my favorites images from the series. I think you'll enjoy reliving the moments with your OPE members. It was a spectacular performance, and every player, or dancer, or conductor on the field, along with every parent, sibling, cousin, aunt, uncle, and fan, director and tech, can take away immense pride in what the kids on that field did in those brief moments. Congratulations, James Bowie High School Outdoor Performing Ensemble, version 2014, for improving the record and reputation of your organisation. NOTE: This gallery in particular, works well in the Slideshow mode. Nothing but the kiddos are moving in these images! Click the Slideshow button over there ---->
READ THIS... if you haven't before:
I photograph my son, Jordan, a junior baritone player, in an effort to document his time with the greatest organization he has ever been a part of. I don't mind if you share any photos you find of your OPE member on social media sites and emails as long as you leave my copyright watermark along the bottom of each image.
These images are optimized for viewing on-screen on your electronic devices -- they won't reproduce well in printed form because these JPG files are highly compressed and are of reduced resolution. If you would like prints, please contact me via email and I can handle any printing needs you have. Identify images by their captions. The caption includes the date/event/file number of each image. With that data I can identify your image among the thousands I'll shoot this year. Then tell me what size print you would like and if you need multiple prints of any image. Sample prices: 4" x 6" = $5; 5" x 7" = $7; 8" x 10" = $10.
For you technical types: I shoot with a Canon EOS 7D body with the battery grip attachment; a Sigma EX DG 50-500mm f/4.5-6.3. (my APS-C size sensor effectively changes my lens's focal length to 80-800mm. I can single out and fill my image frame with any band/guard member on the field.) I shoot all my images in RAW format, so I have to spend hours processing everything I shoot into JPG images. I edit these images on a calibrated and profiled monitor. Your screen is not calibrated, so the colors, contrast, and exposure of my images won't look the same on your screens. If you were to print my image, you would see the image the way I edited it because all printers are calibrated to the same standard as my monitor. It takes me a few days to post my images after an event.
Note: click an image to enlarge it as much as possible before you save it onto your device. Maximum dimensions are 1920 pixels wide and 1200 pixels high. There is a Slideshow function you may use if you click the Slideshow button over to the right --->
This is the video I made of all the images I shot with my backup camera. Click on this image to switch to the video player. You should also click on the double-headed arrow in the lower right corner of the video player to enlarge the image as much as possible. It moves fast, so you'll want to see all the detail you can.
